Finally, a way to deal with straws!

A portion of New Jersey's Plastic Pollution Reduction Law goes into effect today.

You probably don't remember the exact experience, but you drank a vanilla milkshake back in the 1970s (if you weren't born yet, then I'm sure you did in your childhood years at some point.) Boy was it tasty, frothy and you slurped to the last drop...with a straw. The straw was thrown in the garbage but it didn't go away. You just don't see it anymore. It is still somewhere on this earth in a landfill or the ocean, unless it was incinerated. We've been aware for years now that straws are the simplest item we can avoid but still many don't act on it. Now New Jersey residents will all be made aware of this issue and the simple step they can take to prevent plastic pollution.

A portion of New Jersey's Plastic Pollution Reduction Law goes into effect today, November 4th. Straws are now only available upon request in restaurants, bars, cafes, and even drive-thrus.

Always choose to skip the straw!

Grab a spoon for your next milkshake, or for drinks--it is simple--take sips from the cup!
